The Atari Lynx was the first (and last) handheld system produced by Atari and was released in 1989. It was notable for being the world's first handheld system with a colour LCD display as well as an ambidextrous button layout. The Atari Lynx is widely considered to have been a moderate failure with around 2 million units sold. To this day the system still has a dedicated following and several hundred Atari Lynx roms are available for download.
