The Sega CD system (known as the Sega Mega CD outside the USA) was first released in 1992 as an add on unit to the Sega Genesis and Sega Mega Drive. The system went onto
sell 6 million units worldwide meaning just a small proportion of Sega Genesis and Sega Mega Drive owners opted to purchase the add on system. The high price
and the lack of any real technical advances over the Sega Mega Drive are thought to be the main reasons for this. However, a considerable number of games were developed
meaning we now have several hundred Sega CD isos and Sega Mega CD isos available to download online.
To play
Sega CD isos on your PC, we recommend the
Gens Sega CD emulator. Please note that emulation for CD systems is not
perfect at this point in time, so it is highly likely you won't be able to play all iso games on your PC. We recommend burning the games onto CD and playing them on an original Sega CD system.
